Incident Reporting
Empire State University is required by statute to report specific criminal incidents directly associated with the university.
Guidelines have been established to assist SUNY Empire community members in reporting incidents that may involve students, faculty, or staff.
Incident: Action or event that has, is, or is going to affect someone/something; a reportable incident is a crime, emergency or situation immediately dangerous to life, health or the university as a whole.
Incident report: An official SUNY Empire report documenting a reportable incident; a police agency report will serve as an official report under this definition.
To report an emergency, contact the local 911 center and follow their instructions. Once the emergency has concluded, contact the Office of Safety and Security at 518-587-2100 Ext. 2900.
