Office of the President - Video Description

Upbeat, energic music plays throughout. President Lisa Vollendorf's first day on campus. She walks outside to meet Nathan Gonyea and shakes his hand. Inside her office she high fives SUNY Empire mascot, Blue. The video moves to a shot of an empty commencement stage, followed by President Vollendorf and the faculty walking into the commencement ceremony. President Vollendorf is at the podium and then greets graduates as they move across the stage. The video then moves to a shot of President Vollendorf looking at a drawing outside with the mascot, Blue, and founding President Jim Hall. They look toward the flagpoles as if imagining what the new institutional flag will look like once the college becomes a university. The next shot shows President Vollendorf holding the new university flag as former President Hall looks on. The presidents high five as the new flag is hoisted into the air on the flagpole. The next shot is of the Saratoga Springs City Center and a digital sign with the SUNY Empire logo welcoming people to the university’s annual meeting for faculty and staff. The next several shots show President Vollendorf addressing employees from a podium, wide shots of employees sitting in presentations. The next shot shows Blue opening the blinds on a window and we see that Blue is waking up President Vollendorf on the morning of her inauguration. The President sits up in bed and says, "Blue, thank you for bringing my regalia,” as Blue hands her an academic robe. The video moves to a shot of a banner welcoming people to the president’s inauguration and then a shot of all five former SUNY Empire presidents in regalia alongside President Vollendorf before inauguration. We then see the academic procession move into the inauguration hall as the president high fives people along the way. SUNY Chancellor John B. King is at the podium on stage and President Vollendorf rises to receive the chain of office from him. They shake hands. The video moves to the inauguration party, where the president dances with Blue. Next is another commencement ceremony, with the president speaking at a podium and handing diploma covers to graduates as they cross the stage. The video ends with the SUNY Empire logo and the following text: President Vollendorf, thank you for all that you do to make Empire State University an incredible place to work, learn, and grow. Music ends.
