In the News: Veteran and Military Resource Center featured on CBS6

(SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – APRIL 30, 2024) Empire State University’s Veteran and Military Resource Center, located in Saratoga Springs, NY, was featured on CBS6 on April 27, 2024.

Empire State University recently announced it has the most military-affiliated students of any State University of New York institution, supporting over 1,000 students through their academic journeys. The article highlights SUNY Empire’s work with military-affiliated students and their families, as well as ongoing efforts to expand the research center, in-person, and virtual programming.

During the interview with CBS6, Desiree Drindak, director of the Veteran and Military Resource Center, said the idea of supporting and building community is crucial.

“What we find is that community is what’s most important for our students and, especially for our veteran component, who may not be in a military community, they can come here,” Drindak said. “Whether they’re connecting virtually or they’re connecting in-person, we want them to have that space to be able to come together.”
