Description: Student will provide critical insight into the multi-channel services
(in-person, by phone, online) offered by the university at each stage of the enrollment
cycle by working in a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities will include
duties such as data entry, returning phone calls/emails, creating documents and spreadsheets,
with a primary focus of supporting the university's chatbot, BLUE, in addition to
other tasks including reviewing websites and student informational materials in order
to provide feedback, edits and recommendations for improvement. Remote work schedule
is possible.

Description: A work study student will serve as a reader for a blind student. This
would be a remote position. Meetings would be held via MS Teams. The reader would
be expected to meet with student via Teams to read aloud electronic materials including
websites and online articles/texts. This material may contain graphs and charts. Monday,
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday mornings and/or early afternoons (can be flexible on exact
times and number of days per week.

Description: Student will work with VMRC staff on special projects, including prospective
student data management and program support for student veterans and assist with veteran
and military outreach efforts. Good oral and written communication skills and computer
experience preferred. Flexible schedule and locations.

Description: Student writers wanted for support with office newsletter, publications
and virtual transition center. Writers must be able to write clearly and informatively.

Pay rate: $15.50 per hour
Description: The work-study student would be responsible for assisting in project-based
and day-to-day office work. For example, the college is undergoing a document storage
system upgrade. The upgrade requires reorganization and re-annotation of all academic
documents (transcripts, exams, certifications, licenses, etc.) for the past three
years. The office will train the work-study student on the annotation process. At
the conclusion of this project, the work-study student will be assigned to assist
on other office projects and office activities. Due to the highly sensitive nature
of academic documents, degree plans and other documents handled by the office, the
work-study student will be provided FERPA training and need to sign a confidentiality
statement. Qualifications include good organization, communication and computer skills.
Ability to work with confidential materials and adhere to FERPA guidelines required.

Description: This position will involve providing general support to the Office of
Partnerships. Duties will include, but are not limited to, preparing and tracking
data, updating/editing/proof-reading documents, research for the office and assistance
with processing new and renewal agreements. Experience with Adobe is desirable.

School for Graduate Studies

Description: This position will involve providing general support to the School for
Graduate Studies. Duties will include, but are not be limited to, filing, answering
and transferring phone calls, processing student ID applications, editing/proof-reading
documents, preparing and sending mass emails, supporting graduate residencies, and
updating the School’s Webpage. Experience with website design and development is desirable.

Description: This position will involve conducting research to support academic program
development, improvement, grants, program assessment/evaluation, and partnerships.
Duties will include, but are not limited to, conducting internet, literature, quantitative,
and qualitative research on employment trends, potential academic programs, competing
academic programs, potential partners, program/student outcomes, and issues related
to student and academic success. Experience in one or more of the following areas
is desirable: Academic literature reviews, internet research, basic statistical analyses
(descriptive statistics and correlational/regression analyses), and research/evaluation/grant
report writing.

environment to assist on open education projects. Student should be willing to learn

Description: The student in this work-study position will need to effectively provide
technology support in an academic environment. Effective communication, teaching and
customer service skills will be expected. While assisting various faculty members,
the work-study student will also learn about applying various learning and teaching

Description: The Empire State University Events Office seeks an energetic and enthusiastic
Work Study Student Ambassador at our Rochester, New York location. As a Student Ambassador,
you will have the ability to help your fellow students, build your work experience,
and increase your networking contacts while supporting the mission of the university.
Work may occur on the campus location or remote, depending on work needed. Some work
may be off site assisting with events and programs such as Commencement. The Student
Ambassador will support the office of the Director of Community Events at the Rochester
location. Work may occur during the summer with completion of fall registration.
Eligible students may participate in work-study if employed full or part time outside

Responsibilities and Duties Include:
- Customer Service: This important position will allow the student to work in a variety of Customer Services settings. Settings may include front desk, registration table, to general support of special programs. Position will bring the candidate direct interaction with students, alumni and public
- Project Management: Special Project work as needed and ability to work with confidential materials. Availability for working on weekends and evenings is helpful but not required. Candidate will have the opportunity to work and learn all aspects of event management. Planning, setup, assist in event, and breakdown
- University Wide Event Support: Ability to work and engage in special local university events and university-wide events. Some work may occur off campus such as support of Commencement.
Required Qualifications:
- Be in good Academic standing with a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA .
- Minimum of 2 years' customer service experience or equivalent
- Two letters of recommendation from your mentor or previous employer
- Successful candidate must be dependable, professional, and customer service oriented. Student must be organized, have excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere with other Work Students. Ability to Cross training fellow work Student Ambassadors.
