Jill Jemison is a senior higher education technology leader with more than two decades of experience aligning enterprise IT strategy with academic mission, research growth, and student success.
Most recently, she served as Associate Dean for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, where she led a technology organization of more than 100 professionals and oversaw a multimillion-dollar portfolio spanning research computing, academic technologies, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and enterprise platforms. Her leadership focused on organizational transformation, cloud strategy, AI and positioning IT as a strategic partner in education, clinical integration, and research.
Previously, she served as CIO for Health Sciences at the University of Vermont and Assistant Dean for Information Technology at the Larner College of Medicine and led technology for medicine, nursing and health sciences, building high-performing teams and advancing digital learning and research support in resource-constrained environments.
Jill began her career in journalism and was an early innovator in digital publishing, launching one of Vermont’s first online news platforms. She holds an MBA and is nationally recognized for advancing inclusive technology leadership and mentoring IT leaders in building strong, mission-driven organizations.
