This week, in honor of International Education Week, we’re providing brief updates on international alumni we’ve showcased in the past.

Joe Khoury ’06 is a self-described visual storyteller who lives in Ghent, Belgium. He was featured in the winter 2023 issue of Connections, where he shared his passion for rescuing historic heritage houses in Beirut, his birthplace, many of which were destroyed in a 2020 blast at the city’s port. His photos landed the houses on the World Monuments Watch, which cast them in a global spotlight.

Today, he continues to work as a photographer with an array of clients. He is also finding joy as an educator. He conducts workshops on the art and craft of visual storytelling for children ages 8 to 12 at a school in Brussels.
